HHGG, VF Corporation/VF Jeanswear will begin construction on a new home partnership.

This partnership will begin Saturday, April 23rd, and this is the 5th home built by VF Corporation/VF Jeanswear employees.  The kickoff will be celebrated at 9:30am with a wall raising ceremony featuring VF leadership and the new family. All activities will take place on the new home site at 2708 Quail Oaks Drive.

“VF has been building houses with Habitat Greensboro since 2006.  Their commitment to affordable housing is evident, not only through their financial commitment but also by the literally thousands of hours their employees have given to building homes for Habitat.  VF Corporation and VF Jeanswear are outstanding supporters of our community and we appreciate their long term support of Habitat Greensboro,” said Maria Hanlin, CEO Habitat Greensboro.

Volunteers from the VF Corporation and VF Jeanswear will be working alongside Habitat partner family William Tombe & Angelina Wani on the construction of their new home. William, Angelina and their four children will participate in the ceremony. Originally from Sudan. William is employed as a driver and Angelina takes care of the home. The family is thrilled to be working with Habitat Greensboro and VF Corporation and VF Jeanswear to provide a safe, healthy home for their family.

As part of the event, all those in attendance may write blessings and best wishes on the framing after the wall is raised.  Additionally, VF Corporation/VF Jeanswear will hold a Women’s Build Day on Thursday, May 26th which will be led by Corporate Executive Laura Meagher.  This day will feature all women building and leading the work day on site.
